Analysis for The Advertiser
From the Screen Shots of the online newspaper, it is easy to determine that there is cohesion in the colour and font, as well as in the layout.
The colour scheme is blue, as the background is a dark navy blue, the master headline is dark blue, and several sections of text is pale clue.
The font is all the same style, except the size, as it varies on the page. Large font is used to display the categories, such as Sport, Community, Lifestyle and News. Smaller, bold text is used to indicate the headline stories, and smaller text is used to display the first paragraph of the story, to draw in the audience.
Next to each “story” is an accompanying picture which is relevant to the story. The general style of the stories displayed is similar; 5 stories with five pictures. This is relevant for all the categories except for the “News” category. The News category in the screen shots shows that only one picture is used for the five main headlines. This could be to do with accessibility of pictures for the incoming articles, as a screen shot taken at later date shows that newer articles don’t have a picture, whereas the older article does have a picture.
There are many hyperlinks which lead to internal parts of the weebsite and to external webpages which relate to the website itself.
