Harewood House or Harwood House?
There have been some queries to why the Earl’s Manor is now being called Harwood House instead of its original name, Harewood House.
It was revealed by Stray FM, after a gentleman commented that the station was pronouncing the name wrong, that the previous Earl himself had changed the name, and that the House was to be called Harwood House and not Harewood House.
This local landmark being around for nearly a century has been known as Harewood House for many of the locals and of the elderly who remember their youthful days in Harrogate, calling the manor as Harewood.
